Deleting your data

Two different people read this page and the answer is not the same for both.
If you run a salon that uses mirrorBill, most of this you can do yourself, immediately, inside the app. If you are a customer of a salon, your record belongs to that salon rather than to us — so the quickest route is the salon, and we are the backstop if that goes nowhere.
If you run a salon
Delete individual records yourself
These come out of your own books, straight away, with no request to anybody:
- A customer — Customers, open the person, Delete. Their name, number, visit history and loyalty points go with it.
- A staff member — Staff, open them, Remove.
- A booking request from your public page — open it and decline or delete it.
- Your public page and every photo on it — Your website, Unpublish.
- Someone else's access to your salon — Settings, Access, Remove.
Disconnect WhatsApp
Disconnecting removes the access token we hold for your WhatsApp Business account and stops mirrorBill sending anything from your number. It does not delete anything held by Meta — your WhatsApp account is yours and stays with them. To remove mirrorBill's access at their end too, go to Meta Business Settings, find mirrorBill under connected apps, and remove it.
Delete the whole salon
This one we do for you, because it is not reversible and should not be a button somebody hits by accident.
- Write to support@mirrorbill.com from the email address you sign in with. That is how we know it is you — we will not delete a salon on the word of an address that has no access to it.
- Tell us the salon name and that you want it deleted.
- We confirm, and delete within 30 days.
Download anything you want to keep first. Bills, customers and stock can all be exported from the Reports screen. After deletion we cannot get any of it back for you — that is the point of deleting it.
If you are a customer of a salon
A salon that has your number keeps its own book of customers, the way a paper register used to work. mirrorBill stores that book for them; we do not own it and we do not decide what is in it.
- To stop the messages — reply STOP to any WhatsApp message from that salon. You are opted out immediately and automatically, and mirrorBill will not send you another marketing message from them. That is enforced by our server, not left to the salon to remember.
- To be removed entirely — ask the salon. They can delete your record on the spot and it is gone from our side too.
- If the salon does not act — write to support@mirrorbill.com with the salon's name and the phone number they hold for you. We will pass it on, follow up, and if it still goes nowhere we will remove the record ourselves.
What deletion actually removes
| Deleted | Kept, and why |
|---|---|
| Customer names, phone numbers, visit and billing history, memberships, wallet balances, loyalty points, photos, booking requests, staff records, your public page, and the WhatsApp access token. | Records we are required by Indian tax law to retain — chiefly invoice totals and GST figures. These are kept for the statutory period and used for nothing else. Where we can strip the personal details from them and keep only the figures, we do. |
Backups are not instant. A deleted record can survive in an encrypted backup for a short period before that backup expires on its own — it is not restored, not read, and not used for anything in the meantime. We would rather say that than claim an instantaneous erasure that no system with backups actually performs.
Deleting your Facebook connection
If you connected WhatsApp to mirrorBill through Facebook, you can revoke that at Meta's end at any time: Facebook Settings → Business Integrations, or Meta Business Settings → connected apps. Remove mirrorBill and our access ends immediately. To also delete what mirrorBill stored, use the steps above — revoking access at Meta stops us reaching your WhatsApp account but does not empty your salon's books here.
